Bobby and Darrick in 1986.  Looks like Darrick had a cold judging by his red nose!

This is dad, probably in 1956 or early 1957. This was taken when mom and dad took their first trip away from home after they were married.  They traveled to California, and probably stopped just about everywhere on the way.  They traveled in dad's old 54 Chevy pickup with a home made camper attached.

This is Dad with Grandma and Grandpa Shelton.  This picture was taken after church one Sunday evening, by the pastor at the time, Bill Rosen.  This picture was probably taken around 1980 - 1982.  Bill must've said something pretty funny judging by the picture.  Grandma looks like she was really tickled.

This is Darrick at about 3 months old.  My brother, and his fiance (now his wife), Pam,    were visiting one Sunday afternoon, and we went to mom and dad's store (which was closed on Sunday) to get some Pepsi to drink with dinner.  We took Darrick with us, and put him on the counter in his car seat while we grabbed the Pepsi, and that's when Pam took his picture.  She was taking a college photography class at the time, and this is among the pictures she turned in, and I believe she got a good grade on this photo.  She later gave us all a large copy, and it remains as one of our favorite pictures of Darrick.

This is Darrick's Preschool graduation.  They made their own little graduation caps out of white paper bags, I believe.  How cute is that?

Ninth grade PE class.  Wow, what a huge class, huh?  These are the girls from my class.  From left to right: April Duncan, Tammy Hill, Miranda Parsons (with her behind sticking out), Tracy Green (on the floor with arm extended up), Martha Blankenship (behind Tracy with her hand posed thoughtfully on her chin), Elisa Gladback (with the rust colored shirt, and arm around Martha), and me (with braces, and with Elisa's arm around me).  I haven't see most of these girls since my 10th year reunion, and not all of them were there.  Elisa and I have stayed in touch, however, and speak frequently.

Dogpatch USA!    This is back in 1971 - 72 or thereabout.  I remember that I could not stand there and put my head in the cutout without holding on, and standing on my tippy toes.

This is me at approximately 10 months old.  I could be slightly older, but I doubt it.  Mom just caught me in action here. She says I climbed anything and everything, and if I'd had a tail, I'd have been a monkey.  This is one of the few pictures I have not touched up yet.  The original is in bad shape only because I used to take it with me to school a lot.  I believe I thought I was a cute baby, and wanted to show myself off. :-)

This is me in 1972 at my aunt and uncle's farm.  Their son took me and Kevin around for rides on this pony, and someone (not sure who) took my picture.

This is me at my other aunt's house (my mom's sister, Zilphia) when I was probably 18 months old.  I'm not sure if this swan was intended for this particular use or not. It may have been a planter for all I know. :-)  The picture sure looks like an old one, even though it's not THAT old.  It looks like it was taken in the 40's or something.  But it was most likely taken in 1969 (possibly 68).

This is my brother, Kevin, attempting to hold me.  This photo was taken the day mom and dad brought me home from the Missouri Baptist Children's Home in Bridgeton, MO.  This was taken in May, and I was 5 weeks old.  Mom said Kevin was holding me perfectly until she snapped the picture; at that time, he let me slump over.

This is Kevin on the same Swan at my aunt Zilphia's house; presumably the same day.  He would have been around 4, nearing 5.

This is my daughter Kristen at age 3.  She was taking ballet classes at the time.

This is another picture of Kristen taken the same day, but a different pose.  Can't you see "ornery" all over these pictures?!

This is me (on the right with the phone) and my cousin Cassie. The cat's name was Misty, and we had her for 14 years, and she was an adult when we got her.  Mom let her out one day, and she never came back.  She was a great cat; very smart!    The OBVIOUS marks on my foot are where I had had recent wart removal..UGH.    A doctor actually gave me shots in all of the warts, sometimes several, and burned them off.  TORTURE!  My brother's went away with medicine!

This is me, dad, and Kevin.  Looks like our trip to Colorado. Kevin kind of got cut out of this photo.  Notice the bare feet and short sleeves on me, and the jackets on dad and Kevin.  Mom and dad said I would wade snow in my bare feet, and never flinch.  :-)

Kevin will probably kill me for posting this photo.  Don't we look cute in our dresses?    He stopped playing dress up after a while though. :-)

Another vacation!  This was probably the trip we took to Washington DC, Maryland, and Virginia.  Mom and dad said that at the changing of the guard, where they do fancy things with their guns, and tap their heels a lot, I kept trying my best to make my shoes do that too.  I remember the changing of the guard, but I'm not sure I remember trying to make my shoes click.   Check out Kevin's "Joe Cool" look. :-)

This is me in second grade.  Nice haircut, eh?  This picture of me looks a lot like the picture above of Kristen in her ballet leotard.

This is me at probably 6 months old.  What a rolly polly!  The original picture was very faded, and had to be fixed, but it is still not the best.

This is mom, probably right before, or right after she and dad were married.  She's striking quite a pose!

This is mom and dad a couple of months after they were married. May, 1956. This is my favorite picture of them together. In fact, it may be the only picture of them together by themselves.  But I like that mom is sort of caught off guard.  It's more natural than a posed picture.

This is mom and a friend (or relative?) at the Tuscumbia picnic (like a county fair).  I'll have to ask her who this is in the picture with her.  She was probably in her early 20's here.
