This is Catherine Hedgee Schaible in Germany, 1865. The original picture is tin-type. This was two years before her oldest son, Joseph, was born. This could have been taken before she was married.

This is Bertha Schaible Steenberg. Daughter of Joseph Schaible and Mary Loren Schaible. I am wondering if one of the names on the pictures of the girls is wrong, because this picture doesn't really look that much like the other picture of Bertha. Just an observation.

I believe this is a brewery in Detroit where some of the Schaible men worked. In this picture is Walter, George, and Robert. I believe Gus Erdmann married one of the Schaible sisters.
